Red Sox Chick/Toeing the Rubber

Because you always need a backup plan

Here We Come

If you look up what time is allotted for the Red Sox games on NESN you’ll find it is three hours.  This weekend, the first game of the series, in nine innings, went over that by 35 minutes.  Saturday’s 14-inning game went 17 minutes over the five hour mark and yesterday’s nine innings took ten minutes less than the three hours NESN blocks off.  That’s 11 hours and 42 minutes of Red Sox baseball in three days with the Red Sox winning every game.  How can folks NOT be happy with that?

I got to watch the first two games in their entirety but, due to family obligations, missed most of yesterday’s game (although I did catch the final two innings).   As frustrating as some of Saturday’s game was, I still can’t deny enjoying the heck out of baseball this weekend.  The Red Sox going into the Bronx only a game behind the Yankees makes me very happy.  I might be the only one who feels this way, but it takes away some of the pressure I might have felt if, say, the Sox lost two out of three to Oakland.

Jon Lester, Tim Wakefield and Josh Beckett are pitching against Freddy Garcia, AJ Burnett and CC Sabathia at 7:05 each night…right now I’m aiming for a Live Chat on Thursday for the Beckett/Sabathia game because I think it will be fun to read Josh’s lips all night!
